A steel platform for new equipment: from site survey to handover

Platforms, walkways and support structures are often last on the list when installing new equipment. Why to plan them from the start and how the project runs.

· 3 min read

New equipment rarely just stands on the hall floor. It needs an operator platform, a maintenance walkway, a support structure for piping or cable routes. If the steelwork is only considered after the machine arrives, the start-up date slips for no good reason.

Start with a site survey

Every plant is different. Before the design, the actual situation has to be measured: machine layout, existing utilities, floor load capacity and space for handling. Drawings from when the hall was built often do not match reality.

Designed for operation, not just for the standard

The structure has to meet safety requirements, but it also has to serve the people who work with the equipment. Railing height, stair width, access to service points and space for replacing parts decide how convenient and safe maintenance will be in the years to come.

Fabrication and installation without unnecessary downtime

Parts are fabricated off site and arrive ready for assembly. We plan the installation itself to interfere as little as possible with running production, ideally within a planned shutdown.

Handover and documentation

Handover includes an inspection of the work, the required inspections and documentation. The plant gets a structure it can start using straight away.

We deliver turnkey steel structures, from survey and design to fabrication, installation and handover.
